Enjoy a look back at last year’s Family Weekend Assembly
Welcome to Family Weekend
TASIS has opened its doors for Family Weekend today, and the community is delighted to welcome families to campus! The day started with classroom visits and an amazing assembly (will be available on the TASIS YouTube channel soon), and the formal events will continue through Saturday afternoon. See the full High School schedule for details.
Terry Fox Run Once Again a Big Success
In honor of international hero Terry Fox, more than 300 High School students and faculty members participated in the School’s second-annual Terry Fox Run on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 10, with the goal of raising at least CHF 5,373 (the number of kilometers Terry ran across Canada on one leg) for cancer research. TASIS Athletic Director Sonny Lim would like to thank all the parents who donated their time and money to ensure the success of this community-building event. More details will be shared next week when the final figures have been tallied.
Reserve Your Seats for antigone/CAESAR
This year’s High School Fall Play, antigone/Caesar, will premiere in the Palmer Center at 19:30 on the evening of Friday, November 16. There will be additional performances in the Palmer Center at 19:30 on Saturday, November 17, and at 14:30 on Sunday, November 18. Please visit tasis.ch/fallplay to reserve your seats (admission is free) for what is sure to be an outstanding production.
Director’s Note from Valerie Bijur Carlson:
Antigone, by Sophocles, and Julius Caesar, by Shakespeare, are two of Western Civilization's most famous tragedies and are used throughout the TASIS curriculum. Their themes of leadership, tyranny, and individual resistance still resonate powerfully with us today. Goodness, wisdom, and honor vie with pride, arrogance, and rhetoric through characters in conflict with themselves and each other. We invite you to come engage your mind and heart through the power of theater this November.
